VOIGTLÄNDER & SOHN - Vito B (1954)

Home
Regular cameras

When the Vito series appeared in 1940, it has the form of a 35 mm folding (also called "half-solid" camera). In 1954 started a new generation with the series Vito B. This time, the solid body has replaced the folding part of the previous series.

The camera presented here is a Vito B made in 1954, first version (it can be identified by its small viewfinder). In 1957, a new version of the Vito B appears equipped with a large bright viewfinder and a high top housing.

The Vito B of the 54’ series was proposed with different couples of lens / shutter. The model of my collection is equipped with a lens Color-Skopar 1:3,5  f = 50 mm coupled to a shutter Pronto (B, 1/25 sec, 1/50 sec, 1/100 sec, 1/200 sec). This same lens was also proposed in association with a shutter Prontor-SVS.

It is also possible to find this type of camera with a lens Color-Skopar 1:2,8 f = 50 mm and a shutter Prontor-SVS.

This small camera has been kindly offered to me by Odette, a friend of mine. It is in a pristine condition and fully operational. In addition, I have its original user manual in Italian. I would like to thank her for her kindness.
