Vest Pocket Tenax (1909-1929) |
To
those thinking that the invention in 1888 of the photographic film may
have induced the miniaturization of the cameras, the Vest Pocket
Tenax provides an evident counter example.
This camera, even
if not using a roll film but 4.5 x 6 cm glass plates, is
smaller than
a
Vest Pocket Kodak. Thus, it will be
present also in the pocket of the German soldiers during the WW1.
|
It was produced
by the Berliner firm Goerz. The first models were produced starting
1909, only at a format of 4,5 x 6 cm. Thay were equipped with a
non-standard shutter and lenses Dagor or Syntor, both with an aperture
of f/6,8.
|
|
In 1911,
a new shutter is introduced in replacement of the original one.
The range of
proposed lenses is enriched with the Celor with an aperture of f/4,8.
The camera is now also available in the formats 6,5 x 9 cm and 45 x
107 mm stereo.

A the end of its
carrier in 1929, the Vest Pocket Tenax is equipped of a Compur
