Like Monsieur Jourdain was making prose without knowing it, I was
practicing photolalia before discovering the meaning of that word.
This hazy neologism was invented by the photographer Denis Roche:
« I'm calling “photolalie” this dumb echo, this silent murmur which
appears from two photographies, which is much more than only a thematic,
or graphic, face to face.»
Quite simply, the
photolalia gives a representation of what the time is making to things
that are photographed. Take two photos spaced from several years and
watch them.
For some of you, this will be like playing the game of the 7 errors. For
others, it will be an opportunity to watch two stopped moments of a slow
variation of things.
