Certo Kamera Werk
The German mechanical engineers, A. Lippert and K. Peppel, create in Dresde in 1902 a company which designs and produces photographic cameras. This company becomes famous very quickly by producing a special camera for women, small enough to be stored in handbags.
In 1935, Certo commercializes the famous Dollina camera, followed in 1938 by the Super Dollina II. At the end of the war, the factory has been plundered by the soviet army and its machines have been dismounted and expedited in soviet union. The company begins a difficult restart. Its management tries to remain independant but in 1972 Certo is totally under the control of the East German state (FDA).

Since 1980, the company Certo is an affiliate of the group VEB Pentacon.
