Agfa - Box 64 Spezial (1930-1935)

The Box 64 Spezial results from an evolution of the Box 54. This model starts its career in 1930 and will be slightly revisited until 1935.

The body is made of aluminium covered with black leather. A silvered grid decorates its front side where is also clearly visible the orange AGFA logo.
This AGFA logo is also embossed on the back side of the camera.

This camera is different from its predecessors (Box 34, 44, 45, 54...) because of the mention "SPEZIAL" labelled on the lens.
What makes it "spezial" is that it is possible to longitudinally move its lens following three positions.

These ones can be selected using a cursor located on the top of the camera and labelled : "Fern" (far), "Nah" (close) and "Portrait" (portrait).
Aside this cursor, a metal tab is dedicated to the aperture selection : 11, 16 or 22.

Selection of the appropriate speed is done using a lever located on the right of the camera. Its two positions are "Z" (Pause) and "M" (Instaneous). I bought this camera 15 euros in an open-market in August 2003. It was in an acceptable condition.
